The Senior Scout Cederberg Adventure 2008 - EXPERIENCE THE WILDERNESS !
Scouter you owe it to the seniors in your Troop to provide them with man-sized activities - something that will provide them with a tough challenge over and above your normal Troop programme. In all
probability your seniors have attended several Troop Camps. Now they need the BIG experience - and here it is!
Date: The SENIOR SCOUT ADVENTURE will be held in the Cederberg from 9th December 2008 to20th December 2008
Where: Cederberg Wilderness Area, Western Cape South Africa
Cost: R2200.00 for a South African participant (all inclusive, Ex Cape Town), for a unforgettable EXPERIENCE! 12 days of Great outdoors , amazing activities, food and transport to from Cape Town CBD.
The cost for non South African participants is as per the WOSM fee structure.
Requirements: Applications to attend are invited from all members of the South African Scout
Association and other Scout Associations. Participants must be:
• at least Adventurer badge standard (or Foreign equivalent)
• at least 15 years old on or before the 10th December 2008
• physically fit
AS THIS IS A SENIOR SCOUT EVENT AND ALSO PHYSICALLY
DEMANDING, SCOUTS UNDER 15 YEARS OF AGE WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED.
Bookings/Application:
Applications to attend should be submitted to the Adventure Secretary by
one of the following two options:
Option 1:
Electronically; via e-mail using the Excel form available on the
Adventure Web-site. The form is automatically downloaded when you click on
its icon. Complete the form, in Excel, and return it to the Adventure Secretary
at Adventuresecretary@scouting.org.za as an attachment to the covering message, please take great care in completing this form as any errors will automatically
be updated into the central database and could cause mail to be misdirected
in the future. Please also send details of Deposit payment.
Option 2:
Hard copies of this publication are available from your respective
Area Headquarters or, on request from the Adventure Organiser. Complete
the form and post it to The Adventure Secretary, PO Box 25, Goodwood,
7459, together with the deposit for each participant.
Closing date for entries:
Submit entries in good time to ensure that all entries, accompanied by
deposits, are received by the Adventure Secretary by no later than 31st July.
Earlier notification of your intention to enter a Patrol or number of Scouts or
individuals would be appreciated.

APPLICATIONS, TOGETHER WITH "SAVE A PLACE" DEPOSIT OF R750 MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE ADVENTURE SECRETARY NO LATER THAN 31 JULY 2008.
Withdrawal:
In the case of withdrawal of applications to attend after payment of the initial "Save-a-Place" deposit, the following schedule will apply:
• Withdrawal between 1 September and 30 September: refund of half of the
deposit paid.
• Withdrawal between 1 October and 31 October: no refund of the initial
deposit, but refund of the balance paid.
• Withdrawal after 31 October: no refund of amounts paid.
Should a suitably qualified substitute be found to fill the place vacated by the
withdrawal, there will be no loss of the deposit or other monies paid. |
