Scouts of America International Camp Staff Program - 2008
The Boy Scouts of America has once again extended an invitation
to young adults from our Association to join their 2008 International
Camp Staff programme . This is a wonderful opportunity for young
leaders to work and travel throughout the USA in the summer of 2008.
Application forms as well as the medical forms are obtainable from
the National Office on request or can be downloaded from our website.
Application form must be forwarded to the International Commissioner
via the Provincial Office. No applications are to be forwarded directly
to the Boy Scouts of America. The closing date for applications
(to SAHQ) is 30 November 2007.
There will be major changes to the 2008 program that will offer
prospective camp staff counselors more opportunities to be a part
of this program. In 2008 the International Division of the Boy Scouts
of America will be offering the following to camp staff counselors
who have been selected for employment at Boy Scouts of America summer
camps:
A 50% reimbursement of their travel up to $600 upon arrival
at camp
Payment of all visa and SEVIS fees
Payment of accident and medical insurance
They will also receive payment of a salary for their employment
by the council camp of their employment.
Opportunity to travel in the U.S. after their assignment has
been completed.
All participants are asked to read the application carefully
and return ALL of the requested material with the application.
APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED UNLESS THEY ARE COMPLETE.
Young leaders between 18 and 30 years of age from your Province
may apply for the 2008 summer program. Please note that the Americans
have asked that we only recommend Scouts from our Association that
exhibit good character and leadership. It is therefore imperative
that all applicants have the approval of their Provincial Commissioner
who will vouch for their character. After receipt of their application,
interviews will be conducted both by ourselves and the Boy Scouts
of America to determine their acceptance into the Camp Staff program.
