First Claremont is a Scout Troop in Claremont, Cape Town, South Africa.
Because we are, OK!
Well, also because we're the oldest Scout Troop in South Africa, first meeting on 3 March 1908, and you can read more about it at History of First Claremont Scout Troop.
If you'd like to join, contact us and come along to a meeting one Thursday night to see if you like it. You'll be very welcome. If you decide to stay, you can be invested as a Scout after 4-6 weeks.
You cna join from age 10 1/2. Unfortunately 1st Claremont do not have a Cub pack, but there are many other groups with Cub packs allowing younger children to join from age 7. Contact Western Cape Scout HQ for details of these groups.
We wear uniform at our meetings, but new recruits don't need a uniform until they're invested. If you've been a Cub or a Scout at another group, feel free to wear your uniform though.
