Cub Challenge 2008
We live in a very beautiful part of the world. We are blessed with
a great climate, amazing fauna and flora, majestic mountains - but
for how long? If we don't take care of this beautiful country we
are all so proud of it will disappear.
In Baden-Powell's last message he said: "But the real way
to get happiness is by giving out happiness to other people. Try
to leave the world a little better than you found it.."
As "Enviro Cubs" let's learn to appreciate, enjoy and
find ways to make our little part of the globe a much better place
to live in.
"ENVIRO CUBS"
There are three sections to the 2008 Challenge:
"REDISCOVER"
Rediscover your environment by planning and enjoying an outing
in the GREAT outdoors. Take a hike, swim in the sea, count the trees
in a forest, watch butterflies, I could go on
..!
"RECYCLING"
Run the attached special pack programme and meet "RECYCLABOT".
Remember this programme can be adapted to suit the needs of your
Pack.
"REACH OUT"
Take part in a recycling project - from growing potatoes in old
tyres, to collecting cans - the list is endless. Use the proceeds
from your project to assist your community or give back to Scouting
by assisting needy Packs in your Province.
IMPORTANT POINTS FOR PACK SCOUTERS TO NOTE
To qualify for the certificate and badge you need to take part
in all three sections. The Challenge closes on 30 September 2008
and all entries must be submitted to your Assistant Area Commissioner
Cub Programme before 20 October 2008. Don't forget to send in any
media articles and photographs.
Go out and make a difference!
